Hair transplant cost in Turkey: prices, package and total budget

By Klineva · Updated on 5 October 2026 · 16 min read

The short answer – in the Istanbul clinics we compared, entry-level packages range from €2,390 to €3,200. At Klineva, our packages start under €3,000, with hotel, transfers and follow-up included. You are given the exact price of your hair transplant after a free diagnosis based on your photos.

Three quotes from Istanbul, three ways of counting: one talks in grafts, another in an “all-inclusive package”, the third adds a driver and a hotel with a swimming pool. Let’s lay everything out for 2026: what a package includes, what makes the bill vary, what you would pay in France, then the total budget for the trip.

How much does a hair transplant in Turkey cost in 2026?

There is no single price, but the orders of magnitude are clear. On 28 September 2026, we noted the prices published by three Istanbul clinics. Their entry-level packages start at between €2,390 and €3,200. Their most expensive options range from €5,790 to €8,000 and more.

At Klineva, our packages start under €3,000. You can choose between three options:

  • Sapphire FUE – the starting option, using the technique Sapphire FUE ;
  • DHI – the DHI hair transplant with the implanter pen, the option most chosen by our patients (donor area always shaved, recipient area left unshaved depending on your case);
  • Premium – the DHI technique with more comfort (a 5★ hotel, sedation). It includes 9 months of GrowthFactor care, with the double serum and shampoo set and the biotin supplements.

Why not show a price down to the last cent? Because a hair transplant is not an off-the-shelf product. Before giving you a price, we need to see your scalp, check what is feasible and choose the right option with you. That is the whole point of the free diagnosis from your photos – you send them through the contact form or on WhatsApp, and you receive a diagnosis and a price tailored to your situation.

A reliable price is given after seeing your case, not from a price grid applied blindly.

All-inclusive hair transplant in Turkey: what does the package include?

In Turkey, the price of a hair transplant is most often a package. It includes the procedure, but also the hotel, the transfers and support on the ground. You still need to know what “all-inclusive” means, because the content changes from one clinic to another.

At Klineva, every option includes:

  • the procedure under local anaesthesia, with pre-anaesthesia using the Dermojet, a needle-free injection system;
  • PRP (platelet-rich plasma), on the day of the procedure;
  • 2 nights in a 4★ hotel, or 5★ with the Premium option;
  • transfers between the airport, the hotel and the clinic;
  • an interpreter by your side;
  • a medical wash at the clinic the day after the procedure;
  • 18 months of follow-up after you return.

The stay lasts three days:

  • Day 1 – a driver meets you at the airport and takes you to the hotel.
  • Day 2 – blood test, then the procedure.
  • Day 3 – first medical wash at the clinic and post-transplant care, then you return home.

If you choose sedation, a light fast is requested before the operation: you may drink water. Your adviser will tell you the time of your last meal. The three days are described in detail in our guide The 3-day stay in Istanbul, step by step.

Follow-up matters more than it seems. The final result of a hair transplant is assessed between 12 and 18 months. A temporary shedding of the transplanted hairs, known as “shock loss”, is common between 2 and 8 weeks after the procedure. It is therefore better to be supported throughout this period: at Klineva, follow-up lasts 18 months, until the final result.

What makes the price of a hair transplant vary?

Two people going to the same clinic do not necessarily pay the same price. Several factors weigh on the bill.

The number of grafts: the first factor

A graft is not a single hair. The donor area is the band of hair around the back and sides of the head. Small units of “a few hairs at a time, with their hair follicle” are taken from it, explains Vidal, the French medical reference. These hairs resist baldness, like the donor area itself. A quote for 3,000 grafts therefore covers more than 3,000 hairs.

Cross-section of the scalp showing follicular units of one to four hairs, and harvested grafts: a graft is not a single hair

The more advanced the baldness, the more grafts are needed. But the donor area is not inexhaustible: it sets the limit of what can be transplanted. Turkish packages are not always calculated graft by graft, either. In the prices we noted, one Istanbul clinic covers up to 4,000 grafts in each of its options. Another goes up to 4,500 grafts with DHI, and a third sets its price before departure.

The technique: Sapphire FUE, DHI or no-shave

  • Sapphire FUE – grafts are harvested one by one, then implanted into fine incisions made with a sapphire blade. It is often the entry-level option, and that is the case at Klineva. To find out more, see the Sapphire FUE method.
  • DHI – grafts are implanted directly with an implanter pen. DHI generally costs more: in two Istanbul clinics that publish a price per technique, the difference is €740 and €790. At Klineva, the DHI option is a little more expensive than Sapphire FUE; our packages start under €3,000. Everything you need to know about the DHI hair transplant.
  • No-shave – the recipient area stays unshaved, which is handy if you want to stay discreet; the donor area, at the back of the head, is always shaved. The technique is not recommended for balding areas that are too extensive. To find out whether a hair transplant without shaving is suitable for your case, talk about it during the diagnosis.

The area treated and a possible second procedure

Beard transplant is quoted separately: in Paris, one clinic advertises it at €4,500 on average. In cases of extensive baldness, a single session is not always enough. A second procedure is then a new expense. Ask from the first quote whether one is possible, at what price, and what the clinic commits to do, in writing.

FactorEffect on the price
Number of graftsThe first factor: the more extensive the baldness, the higher the price, often in steps between packages
Sapphire FUEOften the entry-level option
DHIGenerally more expensive: €740 and €790 more in two Istanbul clinics
No-shaveReserved for limited areas; to be discussed at the diagnosis
Beard transplantQuoted separately
Second procedureA new expense, unless the clinic commits in writing
Additional treatments (light therapy) and PRP (platelet-rich plasma)Included in some Istanbul packages: check each quote; in Paris, a PRP session on its own costs €350 to €500. PRP is included in all our options, on the day of the procedure

Hair transplant in Turkey or in France: what are the prices?

This is often the real question: should you go to Istanbul or have the operation in France? On the budget side, on 28 September 2026 we compared the prices published by three Istanbul clinics and four Paris clinics. First surprise: the starting prices are closer than you might imagine.

Two watercolour postcards of Paris and Istanbul and a small brass scale: comparing the price of a hair transplant in France and in Turkey
CityStarting pricesMost expensive options
Istanbul (3 clinics)€2,390 to €3,200€5,790 to €8,000 and more
Paris (4 clinics)€3,490 to €3,900€8,000 to €9,900 (€9,900 for a single day), up to €17,900 over two days

Prices published by three Istanbul clinics and four Paris clinics, noted on 28 September 2026.

The gap widens mainly for large areas. In Paris, the price follows the number of grafts and the length of the procedure. Several Istanbul packages, on the other hand, stay fixed up to a ceiling of grafts. Our packages start under €3,000, within the range of the starting prices noted in Istanbul.

But a good calculation compares complete budgets. In Istanbul, the package includes the procedure and often the hotel and local transport, but the plane ticket is extra. In Paris, it covers the procedure and, depending on the clinic, associated care. One example: PRP. A single session costs €350 to €500 in a Paris clinic, a usual range in France. At Klineva, it is included. If you live near Paris, you have neither a flight nor a hotel to pay for. And beyond the price, the right question remains the same in both countries: who operates on you, and with what follow-up.

Do you live in Belgium, Switzerland or Quebec? Our guides compare prices for the same number of grafts: Belgium–Turkey, Switzerland–Turkey and Quebec–Turkey.

And what about Hungary?

Budapest is the other destination often mentioned. Living there costs more than in Turkey. According to Eurostat, the consumer price level reached 77.5 in Hungary in 2025, against 59.6 in Turkey, for a European average of 100. To compare the two destinations in detail, read our guide Turkey or Hungary: which to choose for your hair transplant?

Why is a hair transplant cheaper in Turkey?

A lower price does not mean a cut-price transplant. It is explained first and foremost by the country’s economy.

A lower cost of living

Every year, Eurostat compares consumer price levels across Europe, with the Union average set at 100. In 2025, Turkey stood at 59.6 and France at 110.3: Turkish prices are barely more than half the French level. Rents, salaries and the services of an Istanbul clinic are paid for at that price level.

The exchange rate

These expenses are paid in Turkish lira, whereas the packages are displayed in euros. On 25 September 2026, one euro was worth 55.80 lira, according to the European Central Bank reference rate. Be aware, however: the advantage is shrinking. Turkey’s Eurostat index rose from 41.1 in 2022 to 59.6 in 2025, as Turkish prices move closer to the European average.

The volume of patients

Turkey has become a major healthcare destination. Nearly 1.4 million visitors came there for treatment in 2025, for around 3 billion dollars of spending. These figures are from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), as reported by Teşvik Akademi. Specialist clinics that operate regularly spread their fixed costs (operating theatre, equipment, teams) over more patients.

In France, VAT on top

In France, a cosmetic procedure is exempt from VAT in only two cases, the tax authority (BOFiP) reminds us. Either French health insurance (Assurance Maladie) covers it, or its therapeutic value is recognised. A cosmetic hair transplant, with no coverage by health insurance and no recognised therapeutic value, is therefore subject to VAT.

Ultimately, a lower price in Turkey mainly reflects a different economy. On its own, it says nothing about quality: it is the team, hygiene and follow-up that make the difference.

What total budget should you plan for a hair transplant in Turkey?

The package covers the essentials, but not everything. Here are the other items to plan for when working out your total budget.

The plane ticket

Its price varies with the season, your departure city and the booking date. The best approach is to book once the date of the procedure has been fixed with the clinic. At Klineva, it is sending us this ticket that then confirms your booking. Our practical tips for the journey are gathered in the article Preparing your trip to Istanbul from France.

Formalities: no visa

Good news: no visa to pay for. According to France Diplomatie (in French), French nationals are exempt from a visa for a tourist stay in Turkey of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Klineva asks for an identity card or a passport still valid at least 6 months after your arrival: check the date before booking.

French social security does not cover the hair transplant

A hair transplant planned in Istanbul is not paid for by French social security and remains at your own expense. Outside the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, French health insurance (Assurance Maladie) only covers planned treatment in exceptional cases, according to ameli.fr (in French). That requires innovative treatment that cannot be received in France or in one of these countries, and prior approval. The European Health Insurance Card changes nothing. It cannot be used in Turkey, ameli.fr specifies, and it does not cover planned treatment, according to service-public.gouv.fr (in French).

Care at home after the transplant

Also think about the first weeks at home. A freshly transplanted scalp is washed gently: plan on a mild, non-harsh shampoo, such as the GrowthFactor shampoo, which we recommend to our patients after a hair transplant.

Our selectionOur tip: GrowthFactor shampooA gentle, paraben-free formula, also designed for the scalp after a hair transplant. This shampoo is different from the one in the clinic’s washing kit (3 minutes leave-on time): follow the instructions for each product.See the product on growth-factor.fr

Finally, add your spending on the ground and the days of leave you take: that gives you your total budget.

Cheap hair transplant: how to compare prices

A low price is not suspicious in itself: as we have seen, it is largely explained by the Turkish economy. A price far below the usual packages, on the other hand, simply calls for asking what it includes. France Diplomatie (in French) advises looking carefully at the guarantees and “the services included in the price offered”.

Magnifying glass on two blank quotes next to a small traffic cone: when a hair transplant price that is too low should raise a red flag

Before comparing two quotes, ask these four questions and request the answers in writing:

  1. How many grafts are planned, and what happens if more are needed on the day of the procedure?
  2. What is included: hotel, transfers, interpreter, medication, care, length of follow-up?
  3. What does the clinic provide for if a second procedure is needed?
  4. What are the payment terms: deposit, payment date, refund by the clinic in case of cancellation?

For the key points, read our guide How to choose a clinic in Turkey. On payment, Klineva asks for no deposit: your booking is confirmed when you send us your plane ticket. And our patients rate us 4.9/5 on Trustpilot (October 2026).

    Frequently asked questions

    01

    How much does a hair transplant in Turkey cost?

    In the three Istanbul clinics whose prices we noted in September 2026, entry-level packages range from €2,390 to €3,200. The most expensive options range from €5,790 to €8,000 and more. At Klineva, our packages start under €3,000, with hotel, transfers and 18 months of follow-up included. The exact price is given after the free diagnosis from your photos.

    02

    How much does a 3,000-graft hair transplant cost in Turkey?

    There is no single price. Two of the three Istanbul clinics surveyed sell options valid up to a ceiling of grafts: 4,000 for one, 4,500 for the other’s DHI option. Below that ceiling, 3,000 grafts do not cost more than the price of the option. At Klineva, the price for your case is given after the free diagnosis from your photos.

    03

    Does the price of a hair transplant in Turkey include the hotel and transfers?

    Most often, yes, but check each quote. At Klineva, every option includes the procedure with PRP, 2 nights in a 4★ hotel, transfers, an interpreter, the medical wash the next day and 18 months of follow-up. The Premium option upgrades to a 5★ hotel and also includes sedation and 9 months of GrowthFactor care. The flight is at your own expense.

    04

    Is it better to have a hair transplant in France or in Turkey?

    Both are possible: it all depends on your budget and your priorities. The starting prices are close: €3,490 to €3,900 in four Paris clinics, €2,390 to €3,200 in three Istanbul clinics. The gap widens for large areas, and a Turkish package often includes the hotel and local transport. In both countries, what matters most is the team that operates on you and the follow-up provided.

    05

    Which country is the cheapest for a hair transplant?

    To our knowledge, no official body compares hair transplant prices from one country to another. The general price level gives an idea. In 2025, according to Eurostat, it was much lower in Turkey (59.6) than in Hungary (77.5) or France (110.3), for a Union average of 100. But the cheapest is not necessarily the best choice: above all, compare what the package includes and the follow-up.

    06

    Does DHI cost more than Sapphire FUE?

    Yes, in general. In two Istanbul clinics that display a price per technique, the DHI option costs €740 and €790 more than Sapphire FUE. At Klineva, the DHI option is a little more expensive than Sapphire FUE; our packages start under €3,000.

    07

    Is a hair transplant reimbursed by French social security or by a supplementary health insurer (mutuelle)?

    Not if the transplant is planned in Turkey. Outside the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, French health insurance (Assurance Maladie) only covers planned treatment in exceptional cases. It requires innovative treatment and prior approval. As for your supplementary insurer (mutuelle), it all depends on your policy: ask it in writing whether it provides any cover.
